Established early 2024, this is the imprint I have created to self-publish my first book, Long Road to Nowhere: The Lost Years of Richard Trevithick (Part One). There is no financial backing of a traditional publisher, none of the ease that Amazon KDP gives, just me and a big box of books traipsing across Cornwall (and available online of course).
I was in contact with one of my favourite authors, Tahir Shah, when I began my travels at the end of 2022 and he was the one who convinced and inspired me to try my hand at self-publishing. Right now it seems daunting but in the long run it can work out perfectly for any writer who wishes to maintain control over their work. I want to publish with freedom and I don’t want to receive pitiful royalty payments for a project that has become my life and my obsession.
The easy way out has never been my style; I am two years into this project (almost half that has been spent across Latin America), it has taken all money and a great deal of my sanity. It would be foolish of me to give up control now. The revenue from every order will directly finance my final trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in Trevithick’s footsteps and the preparation of the second book in this series due to be published in 2025.
